In order to live a happier, healthier and more prosperous life
You may not be fasting during Lent except to refrain from the terrible C’s but for those who need it, here are some things to fast from during Lent and forever in order to live a happier, healthier and more prosperous life.
Fear – This is a big thing with many people. Of course, I mean the fear that keeps a person from living the wonderful life God intends for each of His children.
Anger – This is a destroyer of happiness. When a person is angry, he effectively prevents himself from seeing the higher point of view, and enjoying the greater good God has for him.
Resentment – This not only destroys happiness, it always destroys peace of mind. Resentment is the cause of many bodily dis-eases and is a big block to prosperity.
Negative bashing – This is an undesirable habit that some people have. It is usually based on a lack of understanding. Rather than look for the good in other people, they ignorantly bash them which means to think of them as unacceptable. Since we are all one, what one does to another, he does to himself.
Unforgiveness – Closely related to resentment, it keeps a person mentally enslaved to an old hurt which often appears in their body as illness. Unforgiveness is an attitude of mind that keeps one from prospering.
Belief in Lack – This belief has kept a lot of people from enjoying the “More Abundant Life,” Jesus promised we are all here to live.
These negative attitudes of mind keep people locked into the past and prevent them from claiming and accepting the rich good God has for everyone. Anyone who entertains any or all of these will be wise to fast from them; to send them into the trash basket and be done with them forever. Of course, when negative attitudes are dropped from consciousness, it is wise to replace them with positive attitudes. These will follow next week. – Lovingly, Rev. John
This Week’s Golden Key Positive Prayer:
Divinely guided, I release and let go of that which no longer serves me and open my mind to positive ideas.
Depending on your desire to prosper, declare the above prayer 50 to 100 times every day for at least a week. Expect something wonderful to happen, and it will!
May we pray with you? We welcome prayer requests for all good desires. Write your prayer request in confidence to us now.

The Healing Word
There is no such thing as an incurable “dis-ease” in the body. The activities, weaknesses, and abnormalities to which the medical profession gives names are but the efforts of the God-given inner intelligence to deal with conditions that the individual has produced by his failure to understand the Truth, to recognize himself as the perfect child of God, and to live by the divine law of life. – Myrtle Fillmore, “How to Let God Help You”
The Prospering Word
You can begin now to bring prosperity into your home. The first thing for you to do is to discard the words that have in them the idea of poverty, and then select carefully the words that hold the idea of plenty. Never make an assertion, no matter how true it may look on the surface that you do not want continued or reproduced in your home. – Myrtle Fillmore, “How to Let God Help You“
Bytes of Wisdom. . .
Wise men appreciate all men, for they see the good in each and know how hard it is to make anything good. – Baltasar Gracian
Let go of the habit of thinking of God as remote. Start believing that He is present with you here and now. – William A. Clough
We should carefully consider whether we are willing to experience the results of our thoughts. – Ernest Holmes
Why not question the reason for doing everything you do today to see if there is a better way. – A. F. Davis
A Little Humor. . .
We had just arrived in Taiwan and were visiting with another American family. The children heard the music of an ice-cream truck and ran outside. “They’re excited that our new country has the comforts of home,” I said.
“Actually,” our friend replied, “It’s a trash truck. The music lets people know when it’s time to bring out their garbage.” – Eric Stickler
