Are You Trying to Make on Your Own without God?
Perhaps the best known and loved of Jesus’ parables is that of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). In the story, the younger son took what he thought was his inheritance, left his father’s house and went into the “far country.” There he squandered his wealth in riotous living, soon came to want, and even ate with the pigs. He was so miserable, he decided that he’d be better off to go back to his father’s house and be a lowly servant. So, he started off in that direction. However, before he reached his father’s house, his father saw him and was so overjoyed he ran and hugged and kissed his son, showered him with love, and arranged for a big party to celebrate his son’s return.
This parable symbolizes the thinking and behavior of anyone who takes what he thinks is his and goes off on his own believing that he can manage without staying spiritually connected to the Source (represented by the father). Emily Cady wrote in, Lessons In Truth, “All human suffering is caused by a conscious separation from God.”
“Riotous living” can be negative thinking, believing in lack, sickness, being angry, resentful, bitter, and unforgiving, and guilt, feeling sorry for oneself.
The Golden Key is realizing the mistake you made in believing in these things, that you could make it on your own and be willing to return the Source even if it means you might have to do some serious work to repair your divine connection with the God. In reality, you are never disconnected from God except in thinking, because God is always within you.
The miracle happens when you “come to yourself” and remember that God is the Source of your good, and decide to “return to the father’s house.” In other words, return in consciousness to the presence of God within you, and be open and receptive to change. When you do, there is always rejoicing. You soon realize God’s infinite love for you and His exhaustless good is not only available to you, but is lavished upon you. This is the miracle law of return.
To experience miracles, it is essential to give your full attention to God. Eric Butterworth said, “If you knew God as well as you know your problems, you wouldn’t have the problems.” God is love and love is your miracle power!
As I wrote earlier in my miracle love story, when I “returned” to love, love lifted me out of fear and negativity, and made my life wonderful.
Decide now to put the Miracle Law of Return to work. Practice more prayer and meditation, in which you return and dwell in the Father’s house – in the miracle-working, exhaustless provision of Divine Love. Gratefully accept all of God’s love and boundless good being poured out through you into your life. In other words, practice the Presence of God, all the time. Miracles happen when you do! – Lovingly, Rev. John
Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. – Mark 11:24
Spiritual ‘Train’ing for Miracles
By Myshel Olivier
In his song, There are Miracles, Todd Herzog sings “Everywhere there are miracles if you only have the eyes to see them. Everywhere there are miracles, if you open up and start believing, you’ll see the light.”
Mike Dooley says “You have but to direct your thinking to direct your experience.” How do we direct our thinking to experience miracles?
Spiritual ‘Train’ing: Eight Extraordinary Exercises to Enhance Your Connection was inspired and written during a train ride to Unity Village. The exercises are presented in a format similar to exercises for physical training, including a motivational quote. The exercises have been adapted for the Summer of Miracles and two of them will be shared each month for the next four months.
Practice these exercises and your thinking will capture what Myrtle Fillmore describes as “…the higher vision of living, the development of soul qualities that make life a beautiful and helpful experience.” This is how you allow miracles to happen everywhere.

Golden Keys to Answered Prayer …
To experience true answer to prayer, it is essential to release and let go of anything and everything that is not of God. This includes begging, anxiety, fear, worry, anger, feelings of unworthiness, guilt, and resistance. As you quiet your mind, open yourself to all of God’s love, life, wisdom, peace, comfort, and joy. Practice the presence of God by allowing all that God is to flood your whole being. Rejoice in His Presence and bask in His Love. In faith, accept that your prayer is answered.
Bytes of Wisdom …
Silence is the key that unlocks the vast resources of the universe.
All is in the Silence waiting to be brought
Forth to form and substance by the builder, Thought.
That is how God fashioned everything He wrought,
Everything you long for, in the Silence wait,
Yours the power to shape them either soon or late,
But be very careful how you form your fate. – Ella Wheeler Wilcox
Everyone must discover the grace of God for himself. Until he does, life is a struggle. – J. Sig Paulson

A Little Humor …
One day, when Jesus went out on the golf course, He hit the ball and it landed on the green, but several feet from the hole. As he addressed the ball, he closed His eyes for a few moments as though He was looking up. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning came down, hit the ball, and it rolled into the hole. That is when Jesus said, “Please Father, I’d rather do this myself!”
