The Power of Gratitude!
– By Rev. John Adams
There is great power in being grateful. When more people realize and exercise this power, they will be amazed at the increased good that shows up in their lives and in the world. When your mind is filled with praise and thanksgiving toward the Source, it is giving expression to the powerful force of Love. When you do this enough you simply cannot fail at anything. Sincere gratitude opens doors that might otherwise remain closed. Rev. Jim Rosemergy, a long-time Unity Minister, said this is Thanksliving.
When your heart is filled with gratitude, your life is filled with beautiful experiences.
Thanksliving was evident, he wrote, when Paul and Silas were imprisoned as recorded in Acts 16:25-26. It was midnight, and they were praising and singing and giving thanks to God. Suddenly, the prison was shaken by an earthquake, and the doors of the prison were opened. Paul and Silas were free in Spirit, and the state of their souls was made manifest. Of this event, Charles Fillmore, cofounder of the Unity movement, surmised that spiritual forces act through exalted thoughts. Thanksliving, when it is a natural expression of our souls, is a grand example of exalted thought. Spiritual forces act through these uplifted thoughts in ways that meet tangible needs.
This is the consciousness that reveals to us that we are in the kingdom of God now, and all is well.
Do this exercise and you will discover the power of gratitude and of thanksliving.
For the next ten days, look for things to be thankful for and declare with feeling, “Thank You, God, I am grateful!” three times, each.
If, at first, it is difficult to find things for which to be grateful, just declare, “Thank You, God, I am grateful!, anyway – three or more times. You’ll be amazed at what happens! When your heart is filled with gratitude, your life is filled with beautiful experiences. God is not influenced one way or another by your gratitude, but your action does something in you and mystically opens the way for God’s abundant good to flow increasingly through you.
When you make it a habit of being genuinely grateful, you make of yourself an irresistible magnet of love, life, peace, joy, health and prosperity. You attract wonderful, thankful people who are just like you! It is love in action! Happy Thanksliving! – Lovingly, Rev. John
Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! – 2nd Corinthians 9:15
I AM Grateful to be a Child of God!
– By Rev. Tina Brown
Thanksgiving season is a time for giving thanks for the many blessings we have in our lives. For being conscious and awake to the blessings and not taking for granted even the simplest of things.
I am grateful for the many wonderful people in my life. For Rev. John and for this beautiful ministry. For the staff that makes it all come together in beautiful, positive ways. For all the many people throughout the world that add their energy to Golden Key Ministry-Unity.
We are abundantly blessed to have one another on this spiritual journey called life. It is good to share the love, prayers and energy that we both give and receive through our spiritual connection.
Let us each take a moment and give thanks to God, the Good, Omnipotent, for the blessings of this ministry, our individual lives and the connection we share. Every time we express a thought, word or feeling of gratitude, we increase the consciousness of good throughout the world.
As children of God, let us be grateful to be created in the likeness and image of this all powerful, all knowing, everywhere present loving Father/Mother, God. Sit with this for a moment and breathe it in!
As a child of the Creator of the Universe and all that dwells within it, it is our Divine birth right to inherit the Kingdom, and all the good that is within it. We live in a world of abundance filled with more than enough to meet our need, desire and supply.
Jesus said, “It is the Fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdom”. When we give thanks and affirm the truth of who we are, this awakens the subconscious mind and strengthens our bond with one another and the source of all our good, God.
One must draw the conclusion that our life is not only of God, but is good and we each have the power within to manifest this good in our lives.
Let us give thanks for this awareness, lifting our thoughts into a higher realm, affirming the Divine presence of God at work in and through us. The all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere presence of God, that provides nourishment to our soul and our entire being.
God will respond to our desire, according our belief. What do you believe?
We have been given the free will and power to create according to our thoughts, beliefs and those ideas that we focus our attention on.
Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, wrote, “Thoughts held in mind, produce after their kind.” This is why it is important to become conscious of our thought process and replace any negative ideas or thoughts of lack or dissatisfaction, with praise, thanksgiving, Good or “God” thoughts.
God is mighty to enrich our life’s path as we develop an understanding of who we are and come into a knowing that as God’s children, we are loved beyond measure.
Affirmation: “Thank You, God, for creating me, believing in me,
loving me, for living and expressing in and through me.
I am Grateful to be a child of the Most-High, God the Good, Omnipotent!”
Blessings of gratitude for you and everyone! – Lovingly, Rev. Tina
With my song I give thanks to Him. – Psalm 28:7
Positive Prayer
Thank You, God, I am grateful!
Golden Keys to Answered Prayer …
Positive action is often required by you in the process of getting your prayers answered. This means to take faith-steps in the direction of what you are praying for. This lets the Universe know your intentions and It comes to help you take each step. It also provides you with everything you need for fulfillment. In truth, God in you, is the answer to your prayer. It is sufficient enough to joyfully say, “Thank You, God, I am grateful!”
Bytes of Wisdom …
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. – John F. Kennedy
Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough. – Oprah Winfrey
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. – William Arthur Ward
It is impossible to be negative while we are giving thanks. – Donald Curtis
In the Mail …
Dear Rev. John: I thought I would write and thank you for your exquisiteness. Since my journey into Truth two years ago, I have met many teachers and writings that point me to the Truth of Who I AM and who we all are – the one I AM – and it has been a blessing to “find” you. My heart smiles (and sings!) every time I get an email from Golden Key Ministry-Unity knowing the ultimate Love behind it all. Thank you very much. I am reminded we can write and intellectualize all we want about Truth but in the end, it is about Love. Truth is Love and Love is Truth and to be the Truth is to be Love or more rightly let Love be us. Thank you very much for all your love, grace and exquisiteness. With All Love and Gratitude, Julie M.
A Little Humor …
Two well-worn bills arrived at the Federal Reserve Bank to be retired – a twenty and a one. As they traveled down the conveyor belt, they struck up a conversation. The twenty reminisced about the interesting life he had, traveling all over the country. “I’ve been to the finest restaurants, Broadway shows, Las Vegas, Atlantic City,” he said. “I even went on a Caribbean cruise. Where have you been?”
“Oh,” said the one dollar bill, “I’ve been to the Methodist church, the Episcopal church, the Lutheran church, the . . . .”
“What’s a church?” asked the twenty.
