Part 1
By Rev. John W. Adams
Imagine, if you will, living a whole year with no fear. At first you might say, “Impossible!” but think again. With God ALL things are possible.
I’ve been reading a novel *The Carmel Sheehan series by best-selling author, Jean Grainger, who graciously gave me permission to use something she wrote. The books are well-written and very interesting. One of the characters asks this question: “WHAT WOULD YOU DO, IF FEAR WAS GONE?” The response was:
“It is a great question to ask yourself because once we remove the fear from our decisions, then we find our true heart’s desire. Fear takes over if we let it, allowing people to only live half of the life they choose, or none of it because they are crippled by terror and what ifs. So, all over the world people are staying in terrible marriages, awful jobs, living places they don’t want to live in because they are afraid of what will happen if they take a leap of faith, they are afraid of their own instincts, they lack trust in themselves.”

Here Are a Few Ideas to Help You Live Your No-fear Year
First, ask yourself: “What would I do if fear was not involved, or if I had no fear?” Think about it. Pay attention to your thoughts and feelings, especially in making decisions or taking action. Fear can be sneaky. It’s the ego’s way of “protecting” you.
Second, think of how your life will be when you stop allowing even a little fear to influence your decisions. Some people are so fear-bound, living free is virtually inconceivable. Early on, I was one of those, so I know anyone can change.
Third, be willing to change. Replace every fear thought with a God-thought. Instead of giving in to fear, immediately switch to faith, love and peace-thoughts. With practice it gets easier.
If doing the above for a whole year seems too much, just do it for a day, or for only an hour. Then repeat for another hour and another. It merely requires you to pay attention to what you are thinking and speaking. When one of those sneaky fear thoughts tries to enter your mind, just say, “NO”, and go with peace, love and joy.
Within you is a deep reservoir of peace. In that peace is infinite love, faith and wisdom. Quietly tap in to that peace and allow it to reveal to you that there is nothing to fear and remind you that God is in charge and you are safe. God wants to you live a happy, healthy, fulfilling life of freedom and joy, and to live it now. This is the year.- Lovingly,
Rev. John
Because you have made the Lord your refuge, the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent. – Psalm 91:9-10

Golden Keys to Answered Prayer …
Try this: When you ask for something in prayer, instead of pleading with God to give it to you, say, Thank You, God, I am grateful! Repeat as often as necessary. That’s all you need to do. Let results take care of themselves.
Prayer Requests
In the Mail …
More Peace and Harmony! – Thank you for your loving and caring letter, and for praying with me. Things around my home are more harmonious now, and more peaceful, too. Thank you for keeping me on your prayer list. I am enclosing my tithe in support of your wonderful work. – New York
Bites of Wisdom …
The breeze of grace is always blowing on you. You have to open the sails and your boat will move forward. – Ramakrishna
Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of it with the handle of anxiety or the handle of faith. – Henry Ward Beecher
The free man is he who does not fear to go to the end of his thought. – Leon Blum
The spiritual freedom we seek cannot be found by grasping at, retreating to, or protecting our perceived safe spaces. Our freedom lies in remaining open continuously, not only to Life’s changes but also to the Divine Light within us and others. – Peter Santos
A Little Humor …
To offset the cost of my college tuition, I worked as a night janitor in the home-economics building. Among my duties was emptying the trash cans in the test kitchens. One evening I saw that the first trash can contained a half-baked loaf of bread. The second trash can had a pie that had failed somewhere along the line. The third trash can had a casserole burned beyond recognition. What was in the last can? An empty pizza box! – Kendall Roberts.
