Quilting
By Rev. John W. Adams
My mother was especially good at using a needle and thread. In those days, our clothes and other things were sometimes handmade. When my jeans developed holes, they were patched, and even the patches had patches! What she particularly enjoyed were the quilting bees, when she would get together with other mothers and make quilts using material and thread which they donated. Some of the quilts got to be quite colorful as well as warm and comfortable.
Making a quilt or making a life is the same. Each becomes what is put into it. I believe it is important to leave out such things as hate, anger, worry, resentment, condemnation and guilt. These are dark colors and show up as things that make life ugly and rob one of joy and peace of mind.
On the other-hand, loving kindness, thoughtfulness, cooperation and understanding color one’s life with peace and harmony making it more worthwhile. Love is the thread that securely binds it all together and makes your life-quite beautiful, warm and cozy!
I’ve been re-reading Anita Moorjani’s book, What if THIS is Heaven? (Amazon.com) I really like this book and highly recommend it to everyone. In it, Anita writes about the Myths that have been accepted as so, and skillfully debunks them according to what she learned through her NDE experience. Anita reminds readers that we are all one and what we think and do affects not only our own lives, but every life.
It is essential to use the highest and best ideas and treat everyone kindly and positively and do the same for ourselves. In other words, Live Life Lovingly. Lovingly,
Rev. John

Book Brings Peace – Thank you for writing, BE What You Are: LOVE. I was so impressed with what you wrote about the power of Love, I accepted and put it to work at once. Today, in the midst of mundane activities, I experience a wonderful feeling of peace. I feel in harmony with our world. It has been years since I have felt so free. God bless you. – Massachusetts
Bites of Wisdom …
The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise, we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them. – Thomas Merton
Children need love, especially when they do not deserve it. – Harold Hulbert
Fear and love can never be experienced at the same time. It is always our choice as to which of these emotions we want. – Gerald Jampolsky

A Little Humor …
A farmer invited a preacher out to his ranch for dinner after the Sunday morning services. The clergyman accepted. After the meal, the farmer asked the minister to drive around the ranch with him. The minister took a good look at the place and in his mind evaluated the future possibilities.
When the two men arrived back at the house, the farmer said: “Now shall we go in and you can pray for a good crop?” The minister, who was quite wise, looked the farmer squarely in the eye, and answered: “Brother this farm does not need prayer as much as it needs FERTILIZER!” – Adolph N. Meyer
