And Claim It!
When I sat down to write, I had the hardest time thinking of how to write this article. I kept telling myself “I am not a writer”, “I don’t know how to share on wealth”. No wonder why I couldn’t think of anything to say, I was affirming lack. Which is the opposite of affirming wealth.
When we come from a place of lack, we are not living the Truth of who we are and what is available to us. The one true source of abundance in our lives is God. God is love, we are love. God is strength, we are strength. If we are love and strength, we are already abundantly blessed in all areas of our lives.
“I am God’s offspring, and I must think as God thinks. Therefore, I cannot think of any lack or limitation”. – Charles Filmore Co-Founder of Unity
Wealth is a gift that is within our mind, body, and soul. If we want to be prosperous, we affirm our wealth and claim it! When we claim our wealth, we are prosperous! We then are focusing our attention and intension on knowing all that we need or want is already provided for us.

Affirm Health
FORTUNATELY, even before I found Unity, I learned the positive power of affirmations when I began to make some needed changes in my life. In Unity we are big on affirmations because we know they work powerfully in our subconscious minds to out-picture as good health, happiness, peace, and prosperity.
When I founded Unity In The Olympics church in Port Angeles, WA, I was strong on helping my students learn and use affirmative prayer. This especially paid off when Judy C. was taken to the hospital, apparently with a rather serious condition. Judy had attended quite a number of classes and was often present on Sunday mornings. She was quiet, rarely saying anything in class.
When I went to see her at the hospital, her mother and other family members with, long faces, sitting just outside Judy’s room obviously in need of a faith-lift. So, we prayed affirming God’s presence and power at work in Judy and all was well. Then I went in to see Judy.
She appeared to be sleeping so I sat in a chair by her bed. Shortly, she let me know she knew I was there. Opening her eyes, she even slightly smiled and said she wanted to tell me something. She said that when she was going through her experience, an affirmation she had learned in a class, kept floating through her mind and she knew she was going to be okay. The affirmation was, God in me is my perfection, I am whole and well.
The nurses and doctors were surprised but happy for Judy’s rather quick recovery, and a couple days later, she went home.
Affirmative prayer is never to try to get God do something. It is knowingly declaring that God is wholly present as your perfection.
