During the Big Band era of the 1940s and 1950s, Johnny Mercer, a very popular and prolific song writer wrote “Accentuate the Positive.” The words went something like this: “Accentuate the Positive, Eliminate the Negative, and Don’t Mess with Mr. In-between.” It was a great and popular song with a definite message.
Considering today’s circumstances and all the negative, pessimist talk, this message is especially applicable today.
We will all do better when we focus on the positive and forget about the negative. By focusing on the positive we know that God’s infinite good is just as available now as it ever was.
In The Mental Equivalent, Emmet Fox said, if you want a different life, change what you’ve been thinking and feeling.
Too often when people experience a health challenge, they give in to fear and give energy to a possible undesirable outcome. The same may be true when a person is laid off from his or her job. Too often, people mess around with the in-between, mixing fears and doubts with love and faith.
The Law of Attraction requires that you send a clear positive message to the Universe in order to attract to you, happy, positive results. The way to Accentuate the Positive is to make an agreement that you will not think negatively, you will be clear in your thinking, and you will entertain only positive, optimistic, God-directed thoughts.
The best way to do this is to give more time to quiet meditation in which you practice the presence of God. God is the Great Positive. Accentuate God and you open the way for great, positive, desirable things to come into your life experience. – Lovingly, Rev. John
