There Is Real Power in the Silence

Some people spend so much time and energy asking God for stuff, they fail to hear when God answers.
When I was growing up on our 40-acre homestead on the southern Oregon coast, one of my favorite things to do was to “hide” in a secret spot and just be still.
The ground was covered with deep moss and surrounded by tall rhododendrons and azaleas. It was very beautiful, and quiet. I felt safe and at peace. Even now, I can still go there in my mind, be still and just listen.
It seems that now-a-days we are flooded with information, news, opinions and noise, most of which, we can do without. However, we can be at peace. Sometimes when someone visits my home, they will remark how peaceful it is.
I encourage you to give more time to just being still. It’s okay and a good idea to talk to God, but then be still and let Him reveal to you all the beautiful good He has for you and is, right now, giving it to you.
In truth, you don’t really need to ask God for anything, because He has already given you all of Himself – everything!
Be still and allow yourself to feel His loving presence. When you are still enough, resting in the Silence, you are aware that your prayers have already been answered, that all is well. Be still and know your oneness with God as infinite love and wisdom; strength, power, peace and all good. Be still, and you will know!
