God doesn’t do anything backwards. Before He gives you something to do, he gives you all you need to do it successfully.
God never afflicts you with disease or other forms of negation to test you. He has given you the power of choice and thereby given you the power to choose, wisely and positively. He provides you with His love, wisdom and power; and all the guidance you need.
God is love. God is wisdom. God is Spirit. The power of God’s wise and loving Spirit is within you and enables you to rise above any negative experience.
When I first entered the ministry, a woman called and said that she had been bed-ridden for a long time. She depended upon her son who lived next door to take care of her. She insisted that she was incapable of helping herself. When I reminded her of the power of God in her which would heal her if she truly wanted to be healed, there was resistance on her part.
As gently as I could, I told her that she could not only get out of bed, but could be completely healed if she would give her full attention to the healing power of God within her. Having made herself dependent upon her son, she was unwilling to accept that she really could be healed, and she hung up the phone.
Months later, I learned that although this woman was unwilling to accept what I had said to her at that time, she ultimately did. She began to pray for the healing power of God, soon got out of bed and began to live a happy, healthy life.
This always happens when you go directly to the Source of health and life, and allow yourself to be open and receptive to it, and claim its healing power as yours. You do not need intermediaries. You need only to go within to the always present Spirit of God, claim and accept your perfection as a child of God. God is love and love is your great healing power! – Lovingly, Rev. John
The Prospering Word – Mystic Food
There is a story of a salesman who died and went to heaven. He found many other salesmen there, separated into two groups. Some were living in the Palace of Failure. Others lived in the Palace of Success. The new arrival watched the men in the Place of Failure. They were a thin, hungry mob, in spite of the fact that waiters were serving them with great platters of delicious food.
The salesman then noticed that another waiter preceded the one who carried the platters of food, attaching a long iron spoon to the arm of each man. This spoon made the arm rigid so that it could not be bent at the elbow. The men could not eat.
Then the salesman went to the Place of Success. This room was filled with well-fed, happy men. He saw the same preparations that he had watched in the Palace of Failure. But here the long iron spoon was no impediment. Each man dipped his attached spoon into the food and then fed the man next to him.
Returning to the first group the salesman saw a man he had known on earth and asked him why he did not do the same thing. “I am starving,” the man replied. “Why should I feed the man next to me?”
Man shall not live by bread alone, cannot live in a heavenly state of consciousness if he neglects the fundamentals of spiritual living. By giving joyously and freely dipping our spoon into the mystic nourishment for which the world is most in need, we help to provide mystic food for all. And we in turn are blessed and nourished by the rich harvest of our giving. – Excerpted from Bread of Life by Dr. Emma M. Smiley

Bytes of Wisdom. . .
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within. – Elizabeth Kubler Ross
Thought is the creative power by which man builds a mentality and a body of perfection. – Charles Fillmore
God in us desires health. God in us is at once the urge to attain and the power to manifest health. The desire for health is universal and is in itself a prophecy of fulfillment. – Dr. Ernest Wilson
A Little Humor. . .
I’d offered to drive my mother to the doctor’s. But when I arrived at her house, I found her gossiping with a neighbor. “Mom, we’ve got to go.” I interjected, but she couldn’t hear me over the chatter. “Mom!” I repeated as I pulled her away. “Sorry, but I didn’t know what to do,” she said, getting into the car. “That woman wouldn’t stop listening to me.” – Christine Chapman
