Since the beginning of this ministry in 1974, we have given away thousands of copies of *The Golden Key by Emmet Fox and invited people to learn and turn The Golden Key.
Someone coined a very clever expression while tossing and turning in the midst of an anxiety attack one night: he discovered he was “practicing the absence of God.”
We “practice the absence” when we give in to feeling hopeless and helpless, when our sense of spiritual connectedness dissolves in the face of negative appearances.
Of course, God can never really be absent from us, but sometimes we can do a very good job of convincing ourselves that is the case. We may feel that our problems are too trifling to bother God about, or are too great for even God to solve.
When this happens, it’s an excellent opportunity to turn The Golden Key! When you do, it serves to re-establish your conscious connection with God. This, of course, is practicing the presence of God instead of the absence of God.
Ask yourself: Would I rather stay stuck in this problem or would I rather be happy and free? You know the answer and you know what to do about it: Turn The Golden Key! – Lovingly, Rev. John
