Emmet Fox wrote: “The only fundamental way to change things is to change your consciousness, because you always must and always will get the conditions that belong to your consciousness.”
To put this in another way, whatever you are experiencing in your body, the cause of that is in your consciousness. You may do whatever you are guided to do, physically or medically, to heal your body, but unless you heal the mental cause, it will not be lasting.
Even if something appears to be in need of surgery, the real surgery needs to take place in consciousness, first. In other words, cut out the mental cause. When this is attended to, often the cutting on the body is unnecessary.
A good idea is to erase from your mind any belief in sickness as reality. Only God is real. God is love and in love there is only perfection. Instead of treating the dis-ease, treat your consciousness by affirming the Truth. The Truth is, you are a spiritual being, endowed with all that God is – all love, wisdom, peace, harmony, strength, energy and perfection.
If you have an apparent healing need, you will be wise to go directly to the Source of health and healing. Quiet your mind as you relax and release all fear. Direct your thinking within to the peaceful, healing presence of God, the Christ in you. Do this several times daily and your body will be healthy and strong because you are healing your consciousness, first.
Follow this exercise with doing the best you can to think and live in the Positive Presence all day long. Do whatever you are guided to do, but stay in the consciousness of God-perfection. This will become easier with practice. – Lovingly, Rev. John
The Prospering Word – There is a way!
During the great depression, a man accustomed to great wealth lost all of his money through the crash of the stock-market. He was deeply depressed by his losses, yet he could not allow himself to completely despair.
“There is some way out. I know there is,” he told himself, and his perturbation was almost as much due to the elusive process of his thought as to his apparent penniless condition. He went to bed, but couldn’t sleep. He got up and paced the floor. He was restless and disturbed, he kept saying: “There is a way. I know there is a way.”
Actually, without realizing it, he was affirming abundance. Finally, he picked up a newspaper. His eyes fell upon an item telling of the glutted coffee market in Brazil. Millions of pounds of coffee with no market.
The phrase linked itself with another in his mind. Millions of bushels of American wheat with no market. He put the two ideas together, worked out a method of exchanging the two crops that involved very little expenditure of money, and made himself a fortune in the process at a time and under circumstances that were thought to be extremely adverse.
“When things are tight, something has to give” is a saying that we could paraphrase to read: “When things are tight, someone has to give.” Of course, it is wiser to give first and consistently, and not wait for things to get tight. When giving is maintained, things will not get tight.
Give and you shall receive is the law. (The Law of Attraction.) “Give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, will they put into your lap.” (Luke 6:38)

Bytes of Wisdom. . .
Most people who have a problem concentrate on the problem. They take it to bed with them and stay awake all night thinking it over. Let go of the problem. Rise above it in consciousness. – Emmet Fox
If you have engaged in fear, worry, and other destructive forms of thinking, the remedy is to recognize the omnipotence of your subconscious mind and decree freedom, happiness, and perfect health. – Joseph Murphy
By changing our thoughts and feelings we change our world. We need to lay hold upon the positive power of the Christ mind. We need persistently, patiently, steadily to pour into our life the ingredients that we want life to return to us, and it will do so. Everything brings forth after its kind. – Ernest Wilson
A Little Humor. . .
A talking horse shows up at Dodger Stadium and persuades the manager to let him try out for the team. In his first at bat, the horse rips the ball deep into right field-then just stands there. “Run! Run!” the manager screams. “Run?” says the horse. “If I could run, I’d be in the Kentucky Derby.” – Charles Leerhsen
