Create Perpetual Joy for Yourself
By Rev. John W. Adams
LENT is the perfect time to create perpetual joy for yourself now and forever. Here’s how: Each day for 21 days, refrain from the 3 terrible C’s. The 3 C’s are Criticism, Complaining, and Condemnation. This exercise requires you to listen to your thoughts and words and pay attention to your feelings. Think before you speak. If you catch yourself being tempted to criticize, complain, or condemn, STOP! Relax and Breathe.
If you “mess up,” do NOT beat up on yourself. Start over until you’ve been successful for 21 days. Even after 2 or 3 days, you’ll be feeling so much happier, you will want to continue.
To help you be successful, focus on the 3 wonderful A’s. The 3 wonderful A’s are Acceptance, Approval, and Appreciation.
By focusing on the 3 A’s you accept and approve of others as the children of God that they are. It is important to speak up with praise and appreciation to everybody including yourself. Replace the C words with the A words. Keep it going for 21 days. You are creating your new happy life! Go for it with all your heart!
Do not judge by the appearance, but be right in your judgment. – John 7:24

New Beginnings
Lent is personal spiritual experience where we can focus our attention on releasing and letting go of our thoughts, beliefs, people, places, or things that are no longer supporting our highest and best selves. A time of new beginnings. A time to turn inward and trust in the Christ Presence within where we trust in God the Good the Omnipotent.
God is Love, we are Love. When we embrace our Divine Nature by letting go, we feel comfort in knowing we are Love and we experience the life we desire. We rest in knowing as we trust, believe, and accept, we will have a positive impact in our lives and in the lives of others.
“The spiritual Truth is that you are God’s own beloved child and that God is ever giving you His own wisdom, love, power, life, and substance.” – Myrtle Fillmore Co-Founder of Unity
As we recognize the conditions that are preventing us from living in the present moment, we embrace our spiritual nature, the Christ Presence in our souls, and trust in God’s wisdom, love, kindness, and grace. No matter what the outside circumstance is, we know God’s Love is in us and our new beginnings will be filled with joy.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. – Proverbs 3:5
