#2 of the Love, Prayer Series
Each of these articles features a particular aspect of life and how love and prayer pertain to those aspects.
When the founding fathers crafted the United States Independence from England, their primary motivation was freedom. The Colonists had been hard pressed to pay exorbitant taxes and were treated miserably by members of the British military. Because of this there was a growing determination to free themselves from such tyranny.
Men of great faith and courage such as Thomas Jefferson, Richard Henry Lee, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock, who loved freedom so much they were willing to put their lives on the line when they signed the Declaration of Independence. They boldly set the course for freedom knowing the price they would have to pay.
Anyone who has suffered from bondage, knows that freedom is not free. The first requirement toward freedom is love – the love that motivates you to the second requirement: Intense Desire. Only through intense desire does anyone make the move to be free. This often doesn’t come until a person is sick of being sick, tired of being tired, has enough of being unhappy, fed up with financial lack, or all of these.
People of faith know that prayer opens the way for love and intense desire to work wonders in their lives. Through love, prayer and intense desire, you are motivated to take proper action. It would have done little good for the Colonists to pray and desire without make their desires for independence known by putting them in writing and then prepare to defend their actions. It takes courage to take action toward being free from limitations, undesirable circumstances and problems.
A boy in his teens had grown weary of his tyrannical father. He longed to be free and in his own way, prayed for the way to open to him. When it didn’t just happen, he ran away from home – three times. The third and last time, things changed at home and he went to live with his mother. At last he was physically free from his father only to discover as the years went by, that he still carried the scars of his childhood. It was still more years, after his father had passed on, when he finally gained his freedom which came through forgiveness, which is love. He eventually felt love for his father and with it came understanding.
Emily Cady wrote in Lessons In Truth, “There is no permanent or real outward way of escape from miseries or circumstances; all help must come from within.”
This means that the road to freedom begins by turning to God in prayer and inviting His infinite love to move you to do all that is required of you to be free. Make your personal declaration to be free, then prayerfully invoke the power of love to work its miracles within you and in your life. – Lovingly, Rev. John
Love Puts Wings on Your Desires!
The good you desire will come flying to you when you love it with all your heart. Give the good you desire the love it deserves. You cannot afford to be indifferent. Not only will the desires of your heart be fulfilled when you passionately love them, people will be irresistibly attracted to you. Fill your heart with love and let it flow out into the universe and your life will be filled with abundant good. – From: Rev. John’s Divine Love Plan – In both print and e-book formats.

A Little Humor …
To offset the cost of my college tuition, I worked as a night janitor in the home-economics building. Among my duties was emptying the trash cans in the test kitchens. One evening I saw that the first trash can contained a half-baked loaf of bread. The second trash can had a pie that had failed somewhere along the line. The third trash can had a casserole burned beyond recognition. What was in the last can? An empty pizza box! – Kendall Roberts
