#4 in the Love, Prayer series
What is Positivity? It is creating and maintaining a positive attitude. Years ago, when I first began my upward quest into positive living, and not having attended church for a long time, I decided to go to a church near my home. After a few Sundays, the assistant minister spoke and during his talk, he thoroughly panned Norman Vincent Peale’s book, The Power of Positive Thinking. He said there was nothing to Positive Thinking and it should be ignored. That was the last time I attended that church!
At the time, I had just graduated from a sales school in Seattle, Washington, where I had learned that if I would think positively, my life would improve. Doing as instructed, thankfully, my life did improve. One of the recommended books for reading was: The Power of Positive Thinking. This book was very helpful and changed the thinking and lives of millions of people.
Love is the greatest positive energy. It is the true essence of positivity. Through prayer you tap into the Source of positivity because you make conscious contact with God, the Great Positive. Through this divine connection, you open yourself to great creative energy and make yourself an open channel through which it moves out into your life. In do doing, it energizes your brain cells, and the cells of your body as it illumines your mind and transforms your life.
It is better to think positively than to allow yourself to sink down into a quagmire of negativity. You may have noticed that if things tend to go bad, you may tend to feed that negative experience with fearful, anxious, demeaning, or even angry thoughts and feelings. Perhaps you even gave some time to beating up on yourself, felt guilty, unworthy, and possibly hopeless. I know how that is because I used to entertain all of that, and it isn’t any fun. It’s wasted energy and counter-productive to creating a happy, harmonious life.
Sometimes, it may be something of a challenge to turn your thinking around when negativity has been a habit. However, it is possible to change.
The Golden Key to thinking positively is The Golden Key, which is to turn away (in your thinking) from the problem and turn to God; to stop thinking about the difficulty and think of God instead. In so doing, you focus your thinking on the Great Positive. Then all the Love, Wisdom, Power, Light, Peace of God flows into your mind and the negativity drains away. Next month, we celebrate the 38th anniversary of Golden Key Ministry-Unity, a ministry of positivity. I’ll have more to say about this in the next Positive Living e-Newsletter. – Lovingly, Rev. John

Prayer for Home Answered! – Thank you for praying with me for the right house to rent. Right now, all I can say is, “Hallelujah!” As I was browsing on the web looking for a 3 bedroom house to rent for myself and my family, the lady whom I have been temporarily staying with, happened to be looking over my shoulder. She asked if I wanted to rent the one I was staying in since she was moving out. I was literally floored and silently thanked God over and over! By accepting this house, I helped her make a major decision to move, and she is now preparing to do that. I will take over the rent on the first of next month. Thank you immensely for answered prayer. You are the best! Please continue to pray with me for the money needed to decorate and to take care of all expenses. God bless you! – From Virginia

A Little of Humor . . .
A few years back most baseball players chewed tobacco. Now the fad is bubble gum. The change may not be all for the best. Recently, in a big league game, the catcher on one of the teams suddenly turned to the umpire behind him and asked for time out.
“What’s the problem?” asked the ump. Explained the catcher, “I have to clean out my mask – my bubble gum exploded!”
