Golden Keys to Positive Living
Not long after I began my studies to become a Unity minister, Rev. Marion Brown, minister of the Bremerton Unity Center in Bremerton, Washington, asked me to come and work with her, twice a week. I welcomed this opportunity.
One of my jobs was to assemble and print the Sunday Bulletins on an old A. B. Dick Mimeograph machine. If that machine was not the first, it was close. On that old machine, it was virtually impossible to print a bulletin that was not messy. While trying to use it, I was tempted many times to resort to language usually not heard in a church! Eventually, I learned that when I blessed it, it did its best to respond.
One day, while at the local office machine store in Bremerton, I looked at a Gestetner Mimeograph, which used a new concept, ink in four color tubes, and NO messiness. After a bit of persuasion, because of the cost, Rev. Brown and the Board members agreed to buy one. Everyone was delighted with the new, color bulletins, not to mention my joy in using it.
Later, when I began Golden Key Ministry-Unity, I used various methods to create my print newsletters, but when the internet came along, that changed everything.
The reason I am writing this is that there is a lesson in it. The lesson is, change is good. The church in Bremerton had to release the old and to embrace the new. The same was true as I progressed in my work as a Unity minister.
It appears that some people are very reluctant to change their thinking. It seems that their thought and experience become acceptable although undesirable. They believe that is the best that can be achieved. However, there is always something better. You can always open your mind to new ideas, better ways to doing and being.
Someone said that insanity is thinking and doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result. It just doesn’t work that way. To experience an improved life, an improvement in thinking is the first thing required. You must open your mind to new ideas, ways of living, healing modalities, and most of all, love.
A good question to ask is, “Am I thinking and acting in the highest and best way to create a better life?“
Concerning any challenging situation in your life, ask, “How can I better think about this?“
I like Lowe’s (Home Improvement Store) slogan: NEVER STOP IMPROVING! Of course, improvement requires continually upgraded thought and action. How are you doing? You can always do better. It all begins with thought, followed by action. – Lovingly, Rev. John
Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which I see before, I press on toward the high calling of God. – Philippians 3:13, 14)

Positive Prayer
Golden Keys to Answered Prayers …
There is power in speaking affirmations, however, the real power comes when you speak them as actual declarations of Truth. That is when they are Positive Prayers. Positive prayer is praying scientifically.
When you declare something that is true (regardless of appearances) and do so repetitively, you establish a new subconscious belief system. Thus, you empower yourself and you change your life.
Job said, “Thou shall also decree a thing and it shall be established unto you.” In other words, if you will affirm Truth steadfastly, you are in accord with God’s law of fulfillment. It is nothing less than the Law of Attraction in practical application.
