The following is adapted from Jim Rosemergy’s book, Even Mystics Have Bills to Pay.
When someone does something nice for you, you usually say, “Thank you.” This is courtesy. When you give thanks for something before you have it that is an act of faith. Another expression of thanksgiving is a grand expression of life – “Thanksliving.” In this case, thanksgiving and praise are natural expressions of the soul.
You do not give thanks because you have received or because you expect to receive, but because you are expressing your true nature.
Thanksliving is evident when Paul and Silas were in prison. It was midnight, and they were praising and singing and giving thanks to God. Suddenly, the prison was shaken by an earthquake, and the doors of the prison opened. Paul and Silas were free in Spirit, and the state of their souls was made manifest.
Charles Fillmore said, “Spiritual forces act through exalted thoughts.” Thanksliving, when it is a natural expression of your soul, is a grand example of exalted thought. Spiritual forces act through your uplifted thoughts in ways that bring tangible results.
To enjoy true positive living, lift up your thoughts in praise and thanksgiving to the Source. You do not need anything to be thankful for, just be thankful. Declare at least 100 times daily every day through November: Thank You, God, I am Grateful!

Fortunes Turn Upward! – Recently, I asked you to pray with me for my brother who had injured his back and couldn’t work. I am happy to report that he is okay now and is back to work. When I first contacted your ministry, it was a turning point in my life. Our fortunes have turned upward. Thank you for praying with me. I am enclosing my grateful tithe in support of your ministry. – B. G. in Alabama
