In all mental working effort defeats itself. – Emmet Fox
On the physical plane, effort is required, however, this is not so on the mental or spiritual plane. On the physical plane, the harder you run, the faster you go, and the more strength you use in lifting an object, the easier it is.
On the spiritual plane, no effort is required. Unfortunately, some people believe that the harder they pray, or the more anxious they are, the more they will influence God to help them. Actually, this often blocks the way for God to answer prayer.
God never efforts because God is omnipresent spirit. If you try to force some good to manifest in your life, you are wasting mental energy and often cause that good to move away from you.
Hurry does the same thing. The old saying, “The hurrier I go, the behinder I get,” is true. It is understandable that when a person has a seemingly pressing need, he will try to get God to hurry up and give it to him. However, this is counter-productive because hurry is fear. Fear never does anything but cause more anxiety. God never hurries. God is always present as the fulfillment of every good desire.
Rather than try to force your good to come to you, relax and let it come. As the scripture says, “Be at peace and great good will come to you.” When you are at peace, you are relaxing the Presence of God. In Truth, you are practicing the presence of the fulfillment of your desired good. The Law of Relaxation always works when you let it. – Lovingly, Rev. John

The Healing Word
There is no such thing as an incurable “disease” in the body. The activities, weaknesses, and abnormalities to which the medical profession has given names are but the efforts of the God-given inner intelligence to deal with conditions that an individual has produced by his failure to understand the Truth, to recognize himself as the perfect child of God, and to live by the divine law of life.
There is nothing in the cell structure of the so-called cancer cells that will not respond readily to the radiation of love, life, and substance. It requires the concentration of thought-energy in a positive, healing direction. – Adapted from, How to Let God Help You, by Myrtle Fillmore The Prospering Word
Every time you begin to have doubts as to the actual richness around you, remind yourself that science has proved that substance is indestructible and everywhere present, and it is always waiting to be made into different kinds of forms. This is true with every kind of financial need or desire you may have.

A Little Humor. . .
Stopping at a restroom at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I pause to read the graffiti. One item, written in very small letters, was positioned forward on the left wall of the stall. When I learned forward, I could just make it out. It read, “You are now at a 45-degree angle.” – Tom George
