How Do Miracles Happen?
By Rev. John W. Adams
May is Miracle Month. You may experience not only one miracle, but as many as you would like. Sometimes, a person will think that there must be a kind of special dispensation from God for them to have a miracle. However, this is not true. God is always what God is, absolute-perfection, everywhere present all the time. God, the loving, wise presence in you and everyone, never varies from that which He is.
In truth, God never performs miracles. How, then, do miracles happen? It is by somehow getting on the same vibration as this great, all-providing energy we call God. This is done by asking in faith, believing that with God all things really are possible.
Quite a number of years ago, a pilot was forced to ditch his small plane in the ocean. His wife and a friend were killed in the crash, but this man was alive and few miles from the Hawaii shore. He had no life jacket or other means to stay afloat. He was attacked twice by sharks and a barracuda came near him once, but he managed to stay alive and be seemingly miraculously rescued. How? He did four things.
- He kept setting goals, albeit rather small ones.
- He prayed, seeking strength.
- He kept swimming.
- He refused to give up. He said that when he asked of God for strength, it came.
What really happened was that this man placed his whole reliance upon God as a very real presence and power. He kept in tune through prayer, kept moving, and believed wholeheartedly that he would be rescued.
What he did, you can do, whatever the kind of miracle you desire. Decide on what it is that you want. Pray in faith, believing, allowing your mind to be in harmony with the inexhaustible strength, energy, and power of God. Take whatever steps are needed toward the fulfillment of your desire, and never give up. Believe you can be healed and that God is healing you now. Believe you can be prospered, regardless of how things may seem, with the assurance that God is your all-providing source. Gratefully accept that God (Love) is fulfilling your heart’s desire now. It will seem like a miracle. Lovingly, Rev. John

Golden Keys to Answered Prayers…
An essential Golden Key to answered prayer is belief. This means to know and accept that God, mighty in the midst of you, and everywhere present, is answering your prayer. It is called faith, which is an inner-knowing or assurance that all is well and all of God’s resources are working in you and throughout the universe to heal, prosper, harmonize, and bring right answers.

Book is Helpful! – I want to thank you for writing your book, *Positively Alive! I found it in my Unity church bookstore and something told me I should have it. I was going through a very challenging situation and your book helped me through it. I especially liked the chapters on, When Thing Look the Worst and You Can Begin Again. What you wrote on love and prayer was very helpful, too. This is an excellent book, one that everyone should have. I recommend it to my friends. Thank you again for writing it. Enclosed is my tithe in support of your ministry. I am grateful for you. – D. M. in Georgia

Another Miracle
Another miracle happened last week. I’d been planning a dinner party for some of my Unity friends in my home. On my shopping list was a Valentine’s Day Centerpiece. However, a few days later, I crossed it off my list as an unnecessary expense. Well, on Wednesday evening, (Feb. 12th) when I arrived home from work, there on the kitchen counter was a beautiful floral arrangement of white, pink and red carnations – more beautiful than I would have chosen. It was sent from a friend in another state with whom I’ve been corresponding for three years. It was wonderful! Thank you for praying with me. – L. M. in Oregon

A Little Humor …
An arrogant tycoon once told his minister that there really was no need for him to pray ever again. After all, he had everything – he was young, rich, and good-looking. After hearing this, the minister said, “Well, you might want to pray for humility.”
