God is the one perfect life-energy flowing through you. God is the one pure substance out of which your organism is formed. God is the power that gives you motive power; the strength that holds you upright and allows you to exercise the members of your body; the wisdom that gives you intelligence in every cell of your body, every thought of your mind.
God is the only reality of you and everyone. All else is but a shadow that is cast by foolish belief or the unwise combination of thoughts and elements of being. When you let light flood you with sunshine, all clouds vanish and you begin to see yourself in a new way of being and doing, which leads to health and wholeness, satisfaction and growth.
The free flow of God’s life through you becomes hindered in its expression if your thoughts and acts imply a belief in a limited number of years, in a hoarding of strength, substance, or supply. You must prove here and now, for yourself, your faith in God as omnipresent good and eternal life.
God, in the midst of you, is a great steady stream of renewing, cleansing, and vitalizing life, and you have the use of this life-energy as you open the channels of its flowing and draw from this Source. – Adapted from The Healing Letters of Myrtle Fillmore
The Healing Power of Forgiveness
Resentment, hurt feelings, and unforgiving emotions are heavy burdens that are not only difficult to carry, they tend to create toxic conditions in the body. Sometimes a person will ask me why, after they have prayed and done everything they could to heal their bodies, that healing didn’t come. When I ask them if they have forgiven everything and everybody who could possibly need to be forgiven by them, they reluctantly say that they have not.
Resentment and unforgiveness not only block the divine life force and prevent the healing of the body, they do the same to unhealthy finances. When I explain that forgiveness and the releasing of resentments is part of the healing and prospering process, and a person accepts this and does forgive, they are often amazed at how quickly healing comes and their prosperity improves, too. It is nothing less than love at work. Forgiveness allows for the river of life to flow more freely through your mind and heart and creates a high, positive vibration of spiritual energy – the energy of love. – Lovingly, Rev. John
Self-Healing
The first step in self-healing is to start to substitute a perfect model for the imperfect one.
An excellent form of treatment is to realize that you are Pneuma, divine spirit. If you can realize Pneuma clearly enough it will heal anything. Every time you get any realization of the Spiritual Plane, your whole psyche including your body-model improves automatically.
In addition to this form, however, you must learn to “Speak the Word,” which is much quicker and better adapted for most ordinary purposes. If for example you are feeling unwell, simply declare that the perfection of God that is Pneuma, is the reality of your body. A good declaration is: I am Pneuma, divine spirit. I cannot be sick, hurt or afraid. Is it a Lie?
Thoughtless people sometimes say that our affirmations and meditations are foolish because we state what is not so, “To claim that my body is well or being healed which it is not, is only to tell a lie,” said one distinguished man some years ago.
This is to misunderstand the whole principle. We affirm the harmony that we seek in order to provide the subconscious with a blueprint of the work to be done. When you decide to build a house your architect prepares drawings of the completed house. Actually, of course, there is no such house on the lot today, but you would not think of saying that the architect is drawing a lie. He is drawing what is to be, in order that it may be. So, we build in thought the conditions that will later come into manifestation on the physical plane.
What is your intelligence for if not to be used in building the kind of life you want? The time has come when intelligent men and women must understand the laws of Mind, and plant the kind of mental seeds they want produced in their bodies and affairs.
